Written review:

This movie was a pleasant surprise for me when I first watched it last year. I had no idea what to expect, but man is Brad Pitt a cool dude! Yes, I know this is his cliche at this point. But damnit it if it didn’t land with his compelling portrayal of Sonny Hayes. The Visual Effects of the racing in this film was impressive enough to drive me to look into real F1 racing done across the world. Both of these categories deservedly earn 9 point scores.

The Casting/Set Design/Costumes and Impact each earn scores of 9 as well due to the excellent cast list full of talent. Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, and Kerry Condon all gave excellent performances. I found myself physically reacting to how much I disliked Damson Idris with his portrayal of Joshua Pierce. He plays an asshole a little bit too well, but this again proves the Casting was excellent with everyone embodying their characters well. The Impact deservedly gets a 9 score for it having some seriously impactful moments for me, where I got goosebumps multiple times from the films scenes. Truly enjoyed the film.

Finally the lowest score goes to the Film Score here with an 8 score. Personally I enjoyed the music, but it was not something that stood out much to me. And none of it being truly original to make it a memorable or identifiable Film Score. Not bad, but not memorable. Regardless this film earns an impressive 44/50 with my second watch through being just as enjoyable as the first. I would definitely recommend this film to just about anyone.
