Written review:
This film combines characteristics of classic crime and mysteries while bringing in a unique quirk and humor that makes it both entertaining and strong filmatically. This timepiece plays on tropes in a way that is clever and adds to the characters and spirit of the film. A standout performance for me was from Ryan Gossling who provided much of the comedic effect. He embodied that character in such a way that could have me convinced that’s just who he is! The plot of the film itself is very engaging, providing many twists and turns with a satisfying result in the end. Ultimately, this is a fun watch while simultaneously maintaining its status as successful filmmaking.
