Written review:

Hit Man – (2023) is a film that was dominated by incredible chemistry between Glen Powell and Adria Arjona. They immediately had that energy, that they clicked with one another, from the moment they saw each other on screen. That energy is hard to replicate, but the acting from these two really executed the portrayal of soul mate energy. Ron and Madison literally killed for each other in this movie, and thus the Bonnie and Clyde reference becomes nearly complete. Regardless, I could not give less than a 10/10 for the Acting/Writing category because the story is well planned, made sense throughout, had numerous funny and complex reveals/one liners, and the acting throughout was excellent. I was very impressed with Glen Powell, and for me this might be his best performance.

The Casting/Set Design/Costumes category also gets a 10/10 as frankly the costumes in this film were excellent. Glen Powell’s different hit man recreations depending upon his research into the person he was catching in the act of soliciting murder were incredible. He really adopted the character and the movie was better for it. Absolutely crushed it.

The Visual Effects and Film Score categories each earn 7/10 ratings from me due to them each just being rather average. The Visual Effects within the film were admittedly fairly limited, but ultimately I was just not blown away by what I saw. As for the Film Score, the music was never really a focus of the film. The music from scene to scene was just fine for the moment. But there was no particular song or theme that will separate this movie from any other. Therefore, 7/10.

Finally the Impact category receives a 8/10 from me because this movie was really fun to watch. Glen Powell and Adria Arjona crushed their roles, their chemistry could be felt through the screen, and the story was all around pretty solid. But for me, this movie was not something that spurred forth further conversation or impacted me in a way to continue discussing it. I would definitely recommend this movie to just about anyone as it is really fun and gives people the best version of Glen Powell to date in my opinion.
